Operations Manager Erin Cude
Erin Cude is an individual who can and will accomplish anything she sets her mind to! Erin was born in San Antonio and grew up there. She moved to the Victoria area in 2012. Her background was not in restaurant management but she has brought tremendous organizational skills to our team. Erin is an accomplished pilot. Prior to joining our companies she was Chief Flight Instructor for Calhoun Air Center. As an example of her skill as a pilot, in 2012 she competed in an air race from Concord, CA to Harrisburg, PA – and won 1st place! Erin brings this discipline, competitiveness, and commitment to excellence to the restaurants she now oversees! She is Operations Manager for both The Pumphouse Riverside Restaurant and Bar and The Sendera Restaurant.
Chef and Manager, Alex Castillo
Chef Alex Castillo grew up in Victoria, TX, graduating from Stroman High School in 2000. His work history includes being Sous Chef and Pastry Chef at Reed’s Jazz and Supper Club in Austin, TX. Alex was also the Pastry Chef/Pastry Trainer at both Truluck’s locations in Austin, TX. Following those positions, Alex moved back to Victoria, where he was the Executive Chef at Falcon Point Ranch in Seadrift, TX. Before coming to The Sendera, Alex worked as a Trainer and Service/Culinary Professional at Red Lobster. In 2013 Chef Alex helped design and implement the new menu of the new Sendera Restaurant. If you enjoy the food at The Sendera, Chef Alex is due a big “Thank you!” In 2016, Chef Alex took on the additional responsibilities of managing the front of the house. Great job, Alex!
Executive Chef Alejandro Henriquez
Chef Alejandro (Alex) Henriquez brings exceptional skills to the Crossroads. He received his culinary educaton from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York and La Mission College, Los Angeles, California. Alex has extensive experience in banquet service as well as traditional restaurant offerings. He began his culinary career as Chef de Partie, Banquet Cook at Hotel Bel Air, Bel Air, California, where he apprenticed in a five-star four-diamond fine-dining establishment. Moving to Vail, Colorado, he worked as Chef de Partie and then Banquet Chef at The Arrabelle at Vail Square. While in Vail, he also gained additional experience as first Sous Chef and then Executive Chef of Tavern on the Gore. Before moving to the Victoria area, we was Executive Chef of The Flagler Tavern in New Smyna Beach, Florida where he won New Smyrna’s 2015 Best Gumbo Competition and in 2016 won first place in New Smyrna Beach’s “Hamburger in Paradise” competition. Come experience Chef Alex’ commitment to food quality – both flavor and presentation! We are fortunate to have him join The Sendera family!
Manager Miguel Ramirez
Miguel Ramirez began his career in hospitality as a barback in his early twenties at a popular local night club. Due to his great work ethic and attentive attitude, he became bartender and within a few months was promoted to head bartender. Miguel has served as bartender for several local restaurants and has utilized his skills working private events and parties both here and in Austin. Prior to coming to The Sendera, Miguel worked as Bar Manager for Schroeder Hall, the second oldest dance hall in Texas. As manager of The Sendera, Miguel often puts his creative abilities to work developing exciting new drinks for our two bars and additionally oversees and trains the bartenders and servers.
Chef Kim Hoelter
Some people were just born to create and this definitely describes Kim Hoelter. Kim has worked in various careers throughout her time in Victoria. She has owned an art gallery, The Magnolia Gallery, in Downtown Victoria, she has owned a catering company, The Silver Spoon. She has sold real estate for Cornerstone Properties. When The PumpHouse was near opening, we wanted to hire the person we knew who made the best dessert we had ever tasted. That person was Kim Hoelter. She is kept busy as our primary Pastry Chef for both The PumpHouse and The Sendera.
Event Coordinator Melissa Orr
Melissa Orr joined our team in 2015 as Event Coordinator. Melissa is perfect for this job in great part due to her genuine love of people. Melissa brings an extensive background in customer service to the position. She began working in customer relationship management in 2004, handling calls and emails for various Fortune 500 companies. One call to Melissa and she will handle all the details of your meeting or party from menu to multi-media requirements. You will find her to be the personification of service with a smile.
